Our Martial Arts Roots 

Jeet Kune Do 

American Dragon Martial Arts Academy was established here in Florida in 1997. Prior to that, Sifu Neil had 2 very successful Jeet Kune Do Schools in New York since 1983.  Over the years, we have taught thousands of students and have become one of the most respected schools in south Florida. We teach Bruce Lee’s martial art, known as Jeet Kune Do.  Through the years we have maintained our high standards through group lessons, personalized attention and constant interaction with our students.  Martial arts is our passion and we love teaching students of all ages who are willing to learn and apply the benefits to their lives. 

Decades before anyone ever heard of "Mixed Martial Arts", the legendary Bruce Lee developed a revolutionary martial art training process, which combined different aspects, principles and techniques of various Martial Arts Styles. Bruce Lee named his process “Jeet Kune Do”, and is the foundation of our teaching at American Dragon Martial Arts Academy.

Every class at American Dragon  promotes strength, coordination, flexibility, and endurance training.  Also, we tailor our classes to fit each student’s needs and capabilities.  We have students who enroll at all ages, skill and fitness levels. Some are overweight, and have found an enjoyable way to lose weight, some have never worked out a day in their lives and in just a few months are stronger than they have ever been, others have come in with zero belief in themselves and in a very short time have become very confident and productive people.

Filipino Kali

Originating in the Philippines, Kali incorporates the use of weaponry to teach universal principles of motion. Once the practitioner has a firm grasp of these principles, he or she can defend themselves with or without a weapon and will have the ability to pick up just about anything and use it to protect themselves (i.e. a pen, a book,  a woman’s purse, etc.).

Savate , or French Kickboxing, has been described as fencing with the hands and feet. The combination of English boxing graceful kicking techniques, are a very effective method of Self Defense. Practicing Savate can significantly improve your balance, coordination, flexibility and endurance.
